It takes two, baby! Learn how you and your partner can conserve together. I know it may be difficult with the differences that you may have in your relationship and daily schedules, but Sapph to the rescue! Here are some tips to conserve and keep things running smoothly between you:
1. First thing to do is to monitor yourselves, try to estimate how much energy you alone consume and tally that of your partner’s as well.
2. Take some steps to conserve. So, if your schedules allow, shower together, it saves water, you get closer. Cook both your meals at the same time, it saves on energy bills (even if you have a gas or electric stove and it cuts down on the opening of the refrigerator, ergo saving energy) and the exhaustion of our natural energy resources, especially during this oil crisis and the rush for new energy production methods and it can be romantic; besides you bond better over a meal.
3. Choose a day and iron both your clothes together, it saves time, money on the electricity bill and takes the pressure off electricity companies in finding oil to keep up their operations.
4. Get some energy saving bulbs, or just keep the lights off (winks).
Face it, it feels great to be supportive of your environment, especially when you’re doing it together…
