To become friends with someone there usually has to be some common ground. What if one of the common grounds is that you have the same taste in men?
Good friends don't allow boys to break up their friendship. There is always a way to make everyone happy, right? No, not really. See if you're anything at all like me you develop deep feelings for your crushes fast and you almost try to mark your territory (him) by announcing it to the world (excluding him) how you feel about him. But, sometimes it's not up to you who you get to call dibs on. You can't just be hogging all of the cuties. Who would want to be your friend then?

But, sometimes it's not up to you who you get to call dibs on. You can't just be hogging all of the cuties. Who would want to be your friend then?
How to solve this issue:
- Allow the guy to be the one who chooses who he wants to date. So put on your A game and ensure that for the whole time you're making yourself available you continue to be yourself and don't come off like you would put out sooner. This could ruin both you and your friend's chances of getting the guy. Why? Because what if he only starts dating you because you seem easy? What if he really liked your friend and he really was her Mr. Right? but because you ignited some "spark" between you he chooses you over her. Bottom line be yourself and "battle" fairly.
- Have a friendly debate about why each of you would be the best girlfriend for him. Have non-biased friends be the judges and let them choose. Ok, I know this suggestion sounds lame but it could be fun, right? It's summer do you really have anything better to do?
- Ask your crush who he'd rather date - you or your friend. Only choose this option if you have thick skin as some guys can be mean when it comes on to rejecting girls. Sisterly advice: A guy who treats a girl who likes him like garbage is unworthy of you. Just imagine him treating you that way.
- Both you and your friend should act quickly. Never let your crush on a guy last longer than a month without knowing whether he shares the same feelings. This could make you start planning too far ahead in your possible relationship. Planning too far ahead too soon can make some guys feel suffocated and even if they like you they will run in the opposite direction.
- Compromise! This is the secret to any type of relationship. If you notice that you and your friend have been having crushes on the same guys lately and either one of you is always the one who gets to date the guy then say "It is only fair that the one who steps aside the most get a chance to date 'the crush'".
